My wife is selling our beloved and super reliable Volkswagen Passat - 1999.5 model year- 1.8 litre turbo, 5 Speed manual transmission, black leather interior, ac, electric windows and sunroof, 100000 km on rebuilt engine (from 2008), car has 233000 miles or 372000 km on it, never been in any serious accidents over $1000 Dollars. Recently invested in new brakes and battery and a new key. Two sets of tires on rims, one for summer and one for winter. Being 20 years old there are some things that don't work so well anymore. The passenger seat has a rip in it and the heating element doesn't work any more and sometimes the central locking system does not want to engage properly on the passenger side door. The engine has a small oil leak probably from the valve cover gasket or the oil pan gasket and the check engine light has come on, which probably means the oxygen sensor needs replacing. Also after 100 000km the timing belt should be checked and possibly be replaced within the next 10000 km. Oil and oil filter have been changed regularly. It has a 8 cd disk changer that works great. This is a really solid car and we have loved the amount of space it has, seats in the back fold down properly flat given enough room to have two adults sleep in it comfortably. Great for camping. Car comes with a set of winter tires on rims which still have good tread on them for at least two more winters. This car is ideal for someone that likes to work on VW's to fix the few things that are wrong with it.
