Catch: Not selling before the 18th of December.
Only reason for sale is because I'm going back to Denmark, and it's too expensive to bring it back home as a replacement for my 2005 Ford Fiesta.
The car is probably older than most of the students at UVic, and the mighty roar of the 3 cylinder engine could lead you to believe I've done an engine swap with the neighbors lawnmower, but it's extremely reliable and it has never left me stranded anywhere. It goes around 22 km/L with one person in the car, and around 17-18 km/L when going to Tofino with 4 people, surfing and camping gear in the car.
I've changed close to every single thing that might be close to breaking while driving, including new tires in the spring, valve head gasket, water pump within the previous two months and some other stuff, plus you'll get both the workshop manual and a small toolset to fix almost everything yourself (it's super easy to work on this car). On top of that package I'll also throw the Brush of Destiny in as an extra treat, as the cylinder for the trunk is blown, so you'll need the brush to keep the hatch up. Other stuff includes a ton of stickers on the trunk and a bunch of new keys that you can't really use, as the locks are pretty worn and work perfectly with the 30 year old keys. There are some minor faults including a tiny bit of play in the steering (50 CAD of spares and some work should help you get that fixed if you want to), some cosmetic damage to the drivers seat and a blown 60A fuse that has been replaced by a nail, but other than that everything is fully functional.
If you're interested in an entertaining car that can put a smile on your face as soon as you turn the key, and is enjoyable and fun to drive even at 30 km/h you've found the right car. The only catch to this sale is that you can't buy the car earlier than the 18th of December, as I have to use it up until then to prepare for my future adventures. You're welcome to come by for a test drive before then. The car is parked 800m north of UVic.
