If your horse is bored and going crazy in a small paddock, this is the perfect choice for him or her.
Located just 20 minutes from Downtown Victoria, near the Victoria General Hospital and on a major bus route, we offer all day, mud free, group turnout on over 4 acres, where horses can be horses.
We are a small private barn, currently with 6 horses in total. Unlike many facilities this close to town and residential areas, Glen Oaks is an advocate of open space for your horse to live and play in. This kind of freedom is very valuable to a healthy, balanced horse. It really makes a huge difference in their entire attitude and all our boarders swear by it.
In the evening they come into bright, airy stalls with rubber mats and sawdust. We have an all weather outdoor ring with lights, jumps and a 50' round pen.
We feed three times a day with good local hay for breakfast and lunch and then the horses come in for their grain and evening hay. Warm bran mashes are also often given on cold evenings during the winter.
All chores are included in the price of board. You only need to enjoy your horse! We are close to miles of trails (power lines near Francis King Park, Thetis Lake Park and Elk-Beaver Lake Park).
Please call or email me if interested. I would be willing to reduce the board if you are able to bring horses in on a regular basis or do stalls if staff are unavailable. Membership with Horse Council BC is a mandatory requirement of boarding at our stable.
